WBJEE or West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a state-level entrance exam for colleges in West Bengal. It provides admission to various UG courses like Engineering and Technology, Architecture, and Pharmacy offered by Government, Self Financing Engineering, and Technological Institutes in West Bengal. As per WBJEE 2023 Exam Pattern, the question paper consists of three categories of questions- Category 1 questions carry 1 mark each while Category 2 and 3 questions carry 3 marks each.

WBJEE Exam 2023 Time Schedule

Along with releasing the WBJEE exam date in 2023, WBJEEB has announced the exam schedule for both papers of WBJEE. Candidates who wanted to take up the WBJEE 2023 had to be present at the exam centre as per the exam schedule announced by the conducting authority. WBJEE exam has two papers, and both are conducted in offline mode in two shifts. Till the official WBJEE exam timing schedule is announced, candidates can check the exam timing for both papers in the table below:

The exam pattern for WBJEE 2023  is given below in detail:

• Exam Mode:The exam will be held through offline mode (OMR Pattern).
• Total Marks: The whole question paper will consist of 200 marks.
• Type of Questions:The question will consist of multiple choice questions.
• Answering Mode:Candidates should use blue/black ball point pen for darkening the appropriate circle completely.
• Subjects:Question paper will comprise of three subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
• Of Questions: Total 155 questions will be asked in the examination.
• Negative Marking:In category- I & category II, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Category I (1 mark) with Questions: Chemistry  30 (Thirty Questions), Physics     30 (Thirty Questions), Mathematics         50 (Fifty questions) with Total Questions 110

Category II (2 marks) with Questions, Chemistry 5 (Five Question), Physics 5 (Five Question) and Mathematics  10 (Ten questions) and Total 155 questions

Category III (2 marks) with Questions, Chemistry 5 (Five Question), Physics 5 (Five Question) and Mathematics 10 (Ten questions) and Total 155 questions

Age Criteria 2023:

• Age Limit:Student’s age should be about 17 years as on 31st December 2023 .
• There is no upper age limit to apply for WBJEE.
• Candidates born on or after 1st January 2002 are not eligible.
• For Marine Engineering Course, the minimum age should be 17 years as on 31st December 2023& upper age limit should be 25 years as on 31st December 2023
• The eligibility criteria for different courses are as follows-
• Nationality: To apply for the exam, a student must be an Indian National.

WBJEE 2023 Application Fee

• The Application Fee for all category Candidates is RS.500.
• Candidate can pay the Application Fee Through Debit / Credit Card or through Net Banking
• Candidates must pay the WBJEE 2023 Application Fee through Online Mode Only.
• Candidates must pay the application Fee Within the Due Dateor on or Before the Commencement of WBJEE 2023 Examination

WBJEE 2023 Admit Card

WBJEE 2023 admit card was released on the official website on Apr , 2023. The admit card is an important document that contains all the important details, without which the candidate cannot enter the exam hall. On the exam date, the candidate must carry a government ID proof such as a voter ID, PAN card, aadhar card, driving license, and passport, along with the admit card.

Instructions for Candidates

• Must carry the printed hard copy of downloaded admit card in the examination centre.
• Must ensure that the admit card should not be folded/distorted/soiled in any case. Candidates with such admit card will not be allowed to enter in the hall.
• Duplicate admit card will be provided only till the date of examination.
• If a candidate need a duplicate admit card after the examination, the same can be provided by the Board. In order to get a duplicate admit card, the candidate has to apply to the Board and pay a processing fee of Rs. 500/- by a bank draft in the name of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable in Kolkata.

WBJEE 2023 Counselling :

WBJEEB is conducting the WBJEE 2023 counselling process for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in universities, government colleges and self-financed institutes in the state of West Bengal.

• Step 1 : Aspiring candidates who have either qualified WBJEE 2023 or JEE Main 2023 will need to register themselves for the counselling process. The registration can be done only on the official site i.e. wbjee.nic.in by filling in the details required. On successful registration, candidates will be provided with the ID & Password which has to be noted & kept safely for future use.
• Step 2: The next step to counselling after successful registration is payment of INR 500 as WBJEE Counselling Fees.
• Step 3: After the payment is made, candidates will be provided with the opportunity to choose institutes for seat allotment. Candidates should be very cautious while Filling and Locking choices of institutes. It is advised to select the maximum possible number of institutes/branches (at least 20). This ensures seat allotment.
• Step 4: Once the institutes are selected, the candidates will be alloted seats based on their ranks & preference. The candidates will be able to check their allocated seats on the official site by logging into their accounts.
