Aspirants can directly apply with their Class 12th score for B.Tech admission in Punjab. There is no entrance exam for B.Tech admission in Punjab, and candidates from other states can also apply for online admission. Punjab Home State candidates aspiring for B.Tech admission through fee waiver scheme will have to mandatorily register for the online counselling.

Panjab University (PU) is a state university which is located in the capital city of Chandigarh, Punjab. It was established in the year 1882 and is approved by the AICTE, UGC, and NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. Panjab University has 188 affiliated colleges spread over Punjab and having one rural Regional Centre at Kauni, and 3 Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana, and Hoshiarpur.

Eligibility Criteria

• 85% of B.Tech seats available under state quota will be applicable for the residents of Punjab state.
• Candidates competing for B.Tech admission in Punjab under state quota must have passed Class 12 from any recognised school located in Punjab.
• Candidates applying under the state quota must submit a Residence Certificate.
• Children of central government employees working in Punjab (for two years) are eligible for B.Tech admission under the state quota.
• B.Tech aspirants of Punjab must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as the major subjects are eligible for admission.
• The applicants must have at least 45-50% of marks in Class 12 to secure admission.
• Candidates can apply for B.Tech admission in Punjab based on 10+2 merit.

B.Tech Admission 2024

Before applying for admission, students should check their eligibility for the respective course. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main exam is mentioned below:

• Students who have passed 12^th or equivalent will be eligible to apply.
• Diploma holders are also eligible to apply.
• Candidates must have physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects in the qualifying exam.
• Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam can also apply.
• There will be no age limit prescribed to apply for JEE Main 2024 exam.
